A batch without records is a business risk

When mortality jumps, a feed lot is recalled, or a buyer asks where the fish came from, you need the trail the same day — not a reconstruction a week later.

What belongs on the flock

• Fingerling source, date in, and numbers.
• Feed name and lot, quantity, and how the fish responded.
• Water-quality readings (the existing water-quality action).
• Treatments: product, dates, and earliest harvest after withdrawal.
• Harvest: date, quantity, ice/temperature notes, destination.

Use flock events as the register. A second paper book that never matches the app is how batches get lost.

Traceability is not bureaucracy. It lets you hold one unit, one feed lot, or one harvest day instead of guessing across the farm. Unlabelled ice, mixed medicated feed, or a pond you cannot name is a business risk even when the fish still look fine.

Keep customer names and phone numbers off public photos and out of Knowledge Hub copy. The farm record is enough.
